NEPCON/EMT South China Reveals its Influence on the Region's Electronics Manufacturing Industry
NEPCON/EMT South China 2007 is widely acknowledged to have been a significant leap forward for Guangdong's electronic manufacturing industry, both representing and driving the enormous expansion of this sector. This year's event takes a particularly prestigious place in the long line of well-received shows that have shown consistent growth. Visitor numbers expanded remarkably, targeted visitors were clearly reached to the best extent ever, and rebooking numbers have been phenomenal. Always popular, the show this year exceeded expectations and actual visitor numbers rose by 21 percent, excluding revisits. 19,776 individual visitors, including 3,196 VIPs stepped through the doors and the event was webcast to still more industry professionals through "Real Time With…." website. Visitor quality is always a huge concern for exhibitors, so everyone has been delighted to learn the massive increase in quality visitors that was seen this year. The highly desirable, targeted visitors are usually pre-registered and this year the number of pre-registrations increased by 22 percent. Furthermore, a unique visitors' delegation was organized by 42 top companies and brought 2213 first-rate professionals to the event. Finally, NEPCON Diamond Club was rolled out. This initiative is designed to attract Presidents and General Managers and other power leaders to the show. In its first year an astounding 51 of these powerful leaders took up the invitation and visited the show. "It is the best show that I have visited in China Electronics industry!" said ZhuJian, Director of PBA manufactory department of Alcatel-Lucent, also Chairman of iNEMI China and Senior VP of SMTA China. Further expansion will no doubt be seen at the show next year, as more than 85% of floor space have already been booked. Exhibitors this year numbered 450 and included international industry leaders such as: American Tec, Assembleon, First Technology, Fuji, Juki, Omron, Panasonic, Samsung, Senju, Siemens, Universal and WKK. Exhibitor pavilions from Germany, the UK, Singapore and Korea flew into Shenzhen in order to benefit from the influence that the show wields in the current capital of the electronics-manufacturing world. All initial signs indicate that next year's event will be even bigger and better Moreover, with such a well-targeted event, exhibitors have also been quick to praise the effectiveness of both the show and the show's management. New SMT Technical Training and Engineering Certification Courses proved a particular hit.
